Annual Check Up (MA-15)

Callie was heading to the hospital wing for her annual check-up. Always the same thing everytime. However, it did get her out of doing therapy for the day, so she was more than okay with that. Waving to a few of the patients she was actually friends with, she headed to the same bed she always managed to sit on for her check-up. Maybe it was her bed, maybe it wasn't, but she was glad that she didn't get moved around. She was not overly fond of being near sick people. Plopping down on the bed, she crossed her legs and looked around.

Who was going to be tending to her today? A doctor? Or a nurse? The blonde didn't care as long as they were gentle. She didn't do pain all that well, despite her decievingly painful piercings and tattoo's. Looking down on the bed, she realized that there was a gown there. Shrugging, she felt the need to put it on. Get out of the hideous day to day clothes for a change. Undressing casually, patients looking her over in curiosity, before she pulled the gown on. "Thats better," she chirpped, she sat back down and waited for the person to tend to her.

Letizia grabbed one of the charts before flipping through it. Her eyes landed on the name, Callie Valentine, who was apparently in for a basic check up. It was something she was more then capable of handling on her own. Unless Callie ended up needed more medicinal help. She slipped from the reception area and looked around the hospital wing, trying to put a match to the picture that was in the girl's file.

"Hello, Callie Valentine, right? I'm Letizia Summers, I'll be attending you today. I'm a nurse," she offered with a warm smile as she stepped closer to the bed. "I see you're already prepared. Do you mind if I call you Callie?" she asked the girl as she set the file on the nearest table so it wouldn't get in her way.

Callie sat there for only a few moments, her mind wandering. She was hearing a few voices, but nothing she couldn't handle. They always seemed to talk about the most pointless things. The weather, or some miscellaneous topc that had nothing to do with her. Swinging her feet a a couple of times, she was soon approached by a pretty woman. Her nurse, she soon found out. "Hello, Ms. Summers," she addressed with a courteous smile.

"Callie works just fine," she told the woman with a warm smile in response. She seemed kind enough. It was good to see there were actually good people taking care of the patients. Lord knows it would probably be worse if there wasn't great care and caution being taken with people like her.

"Callie it is then.. So it says here that you're here for your annual check up. How often do you get this done?" she asked merely to make conversation. In her experience annually was at least once a week, but it varied with hospitals and people. "I'm going to check you pulse," Letizia explained as she reached out for the girl's hand. She found that a lot of patient's reacted better when you told them what you planned on doing to them. That way there were little to know surprises and Letizia did not enjoy surprises of any nature.

The girl's pulse was strong and was definitely resting. She placed the girl's arm back down before lifting the stethoscope. "May I?" she gestured to the girl's loose hospital cover. "I need to document your heart rate now." Letizia placed the ear buds into her ear and grimaced as the sounds around started to become muffled and faded.

Callie looked the woman over a few times. She was hoping the woman would be gentle with her. Her paranoia hit when she was stuck with the faculty alone. And while she was not strictly alone at that moment in time, she still felt vulnerable with the woman, and that was a place she had never liked being in. As the woman began small talk, Callie found it best to respond. It would take her mind off of the things she was thinking about. "Once a week, every saturday," she told the woman, though well aware that she knew this already. What nurse or doctor didn't know that the londe came in. It was all over her documents.

Then the nurse said she was going to take her pulse, and she was glad about that. Some doctors assumed it was alright to touch her without any sort of information before hand, and that usually didn't go well. As the woman checked her pulse, she kicked her legs slightly to keep her body moving in some way. After, she intended to check her heart while she placed her arm back down on the ground. "You may," she replied simply with a small smile as she postitioned herself with the best posture and ready to take deep breaths when advised. "How long have you been working here?" she asked. Callie didn't see every doctor in the place, let alone nurses, so she was curious as to how long she hadn't seen the woman.
